Freedom Farming
with SAEDi Collective
Solidarity Arts & Education Decolonial initiatives (SAEDi) Collective organized the Freedom Farm Series, honoring the legacy of Fannie Lou Hamer. The series, held during the Summer and Fall of 2025, connects women impacted by carceral systems in Boston to farms throughout Massachusetts that are committed to land access for the most marginalized. Partnering with Families for Justice as Healing and New Beginnings Reentry Services, SAEDi organized visits to Kibilio Community and Farm, Listening Skies Farm, Global Village Farms, Gathered Waters, and Mumbet’s Freedom Farm. By planting, harvesting, cooking, and eating in community with liberation farmers, urban activists took part in hands-on learning and freedom-dreaming with farmers who are key to the abolitionist futures they are co-constructing in and beyond the state.
